Description
Humanity is capable of greatness and horror in equal measure. We have placed man made objects into Interstellar space and invented amazing items. At the same time, if the name of individual freedom, we are the only species to kill for pleasure not survival and mount animal parts on our walls as an exhibition of bravery. How brave, we can kill with a gun, with no risk to ourselves, skin an animal or behead it and call this bravery?
Instead of examining our need to exemplify our bravery through some random act of violence, is preserving life not braver than destroying life? Humanities best traits are its humanity and compassion. Brave people should shun people who hunt or better still remove the hunting advantage and ask them to hunt without guns whereupon the animal being hunted has an equal chance of survival. Killing for sport or killing for trophies, that’s just stupid. Are people who do this compensating for something?
