Bull fighting, hunting, and the general killing of animals for entertainment or sport is the pinnacle of stupidity for an advanced species. What entertainment is there in killing sentient animals who can experience pain, loss, and the full range of emotions we do? Only humans kill for sport. No other species on earth kills for entertainment. Some countries justify continuing these activities in the name of culture. Culture? Art, Science, Philosophy are all noble pursuits in the advancement of humanity and civilisation. Sticking a sword in an animal or shooting it with a gun and skinning it is simply cowardice and barbaric. In nature, the hunter can be hurt by the hunted. In the case of most ‘entertainment’ including hunting, the person involved is always safe, and the odds are stacked against the animal. If an advanced alien species came to earth and hunted humans for pleasure and entertainment, would we be accepting of this, just as we treat less advanced species in the same way?
